We would like to take this opportunity to update our membership on happenings at our Association. Due to the PAUSE initiative and acting with an abundance of caution, at this time we are cancelling the following events through June 6, 2020 to protect the safety of our membership:
As a private club, we have been in communication with our attorney to seek guidance on what, if any, of the association amenities require closure amid this crisis. Per legal counsel, we are not held to the same standards as locations that are open to the public. It has been suggested that everyone follow the direction of the CDC. Together we can work to “flatten the curve” by practicing social distancing, washing our hands with soap and water, using hand sanitizer, etc.
With that in mind, our beach amenities are to remain open. These include the marina, playground, kayak racks, etc. We simply ask that you be mindful of your neighbors. As a reminder, the use of the kayak racks are available on a first come first served basis. Starting this year, members that choose to keep their kayaks at the beach will be following the same schedule as the marina; April through November. All kayaks stored at the beach need a registration sticker. You may obtain one by calling 631-878-6373 or emailing *protected email*.
Among other improvements, additional speed bumps will be installed on the beach road and our entry gate system will be receiving a much needed update. As a reminder to all members, quads are not permitted on the beach or the beach road at any time and the beach is monitored by surveillance cameras.
We have recently collected and donated upwards of 400 pounds of food for our local pantries during this crisis. Thank you for your generous contributions.
General Membership Meeting – August 21, 2020 @ 8 PM
As a courtesy, during this pandemic, the Executive committee will be providing membership with the opportunity to “call” into the GMM this Friday night. Any member who wishes to “call” in will be allowed to listen. If a member is interested in interacting with the board, they are asked to physically attend the meeting. To protect the safety of our membership, any person attending the meeting will have their temperature taken. Any person with a temperature greater than 98.6 will not be permitted to attend. Further, wearing masks and social distancing will be part of the protocol for the evening’s meeting for the safety of all who chose to attend. Thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented times.
