In 2019 the Holiday Beach Victorian Tea Committee hosted the 22nd Victorian Tea and Basket Auction.Twenty-two years of scones, tea sandwiches, desserts, a fabulous auction and a good time had by all. How does one keep this tradition alive in light of CO-VID?Modify, Improvise, and “CO-VIDise.”The 23rd Victorian tea (Dec. 13, from 10:00a.m.- 1:00 p.m.) becomes the 2020 “CO-VID-torian Tea”. That’s right, the tradition will continue. How? Here’s the plan.
First: Modify the Tea
For a $5.00 entrance fee one will be rewarded with a “Grab and Go” bag. The bag will contain a scone, a small container of our clotted cream, a container of jam/jelly and an individual tea bag with a honey stick.Tickets for the auction will be offered: 10 tickets for $5.00 and/or 55 tickets for $25.
Next: Improvise the Auction
This year, we have ninety beautiful baskets that can be viewed here on-line for all to see before we open the doors on December 13, 2020.
And: CO-VIDise Auction Day
On December 13, 2020, from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. come to the Masury. Enter (wearing your mask and staying socially distant from your neighbors and friends). Pick up your “Grab and Go” bag with your entrance fee and proceed to purchase your tickets for your basket choices. When you purchase your tickets, we will record your name and phone number so we can call you when you win a basket(s). Hopefully you will have selected your basket choices ahead of time to facilitate moving everyone through the Masury safely. Baskets will be spaced six feet apart to comply with social distancing protocols. At 1:00 we will close the doors, draw the winning numbers, and make phone calls.Winners can come back to the Masury to pick up baskets until 6:00 p.m. or the next morning from nine ‘til noon.
THANK YOU in advance for your support of the Masury Restoration Fund and of this wonderful community tradition.
There has been an upgrade to the beach gate that requires new access cards. Beach Managers Eric & Paul will be distributing replacement cards at the Masury 4pm-6pm Friday evenings and 9am-11am Saturday mornings throughout the month of February. Please stop by to pick up your replacement card(s). You will receive the same number of cards you currently have, with a maximum allotment of 2 cards per household.
You do not need to turn in your current card(s) however they will be deactivated on March 1st.
If you are unable to pick up your new beach card(s), please contact Paul Raimondi at *protected email* to make other arrangements.
